Receiving this recognition is meaningful on its own, but the timing makes it even more special. This award comes as we celebrate our second anniversary of serving individuals, couples, and families in Ankeny and throughout Iowa via telehealth. Looking back on these first two years, we are filled with gratitude for the trust our community has placed in us.

CommunityVotes Ankeny therapy award is unique because it is completely driven by the community.
Each year, local residents nominate the businesses and organizations they appreciate most. Those nominations move into a public voting phase where community members determine the finalists and winners in each category.
Knowing that members of our own community chose to nominate and vote for Nurturing Therapy Services is something we do not take lightly. This recognition reflects the relationships we have built, the trust our clients have placed in us, and the support we have received from colleagues, healthcare providers, and community partners.
As therapists, our work often happens quietly behind closed doors. While maintaining confidentiality is central to what we do, it also means we rarely have the opportunity to publicly celebrate the impact of this work. Receiving an award that comes directly from our community is a meaningful reminder that compassionate care makes a difference.
Reflecting on Two Years of Growth
When Nurturing Therapy Services opened its doors two years ago, our vision was simple.
We wanted to create a practice where people could feel safe enough to be themselves. A place where clients would be met with compassion instead of judgment. A place where therapy feels collaborative, evidence-based, and grounded in genuine human connection.
Since then, we have had the privilege of walking alongside people through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, burnout, and personal growth. Every person’s story is different, and it is a privilege to witness the courage it takes to seek support.
Over these past two years, our practice has continued to grow, allowing us to serve more individuals in Ankeny and provide online therapy to clients across Iowa. Every new client, every referral, and every opportunity to support someone’s healing journey has shaped who we are today.

Looking Ahead
While we are grateful for this recognition, awards have never been our goal.
Our goal has always been to provide compassionate, high-quality mental health care that helps people feel heard, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change in their lives.
As we begin our third year, we remain committed to continuing that mission. We will keep showing up with empathy, curiosity, professionalism, and respect for every person who walks through our doors or joins us through telehealth.
